24 HOUR CRISIS LINE: 1-800-267-7946

November 13, 2020

Community Members,

As the holiday season quickly approaches and we give thanks to the summer like temperatures in November, I wanted to give you a quick update.

Lanark County Interval House and Community Support is doing you proud.  Our staff continue to work and support women and children in our community who are navigating, enduring and or fleeing violence.  Our Board continues to work on planning for a viable and solid future despite the challenges that a pandemic brings to all.  Women and children continue to find their courage and our crisis calls continue to rise.  Our shelter remains full, second stage is full, waiting lists are considered yet our priority remains consistent; support those in need, end violence against women and their children.

Our co leadership with Lanark County Mental Health and many community partners to ensure a self isolation site is available to those who may need it as a result of covid-19, continues to be successful and available.

Without the support of you all, we would not be able to sustain to the level we have.  The outpouring of support, donations, hope, and confidence in our agency has and continues to unite us in the fight to end violence and to keep covid at bay.

It is not easy for any of us.  Our mental health, our ups and downs and our frustration ways heavy.  It is important to be able to lean on each other (not physically) for support, encouragement, validation and courage to continue to move forward.

Challenge and barriers exist for so many of our community’s most vulnerable; let’s ensure that we work in solidarity to offer a hand up to each other during this time of uncertainty and look toward a healthier future.

Much gratitude.

Stay well, stay safe and stay connected.

Erin
