Hello Community Members,
I just wanted to send you a short update related to how we are coping during this ever evolving pandemic.
Thanks to many of you, we have been supported with gift drop offs at the door, gift cards, baskets of goodies, kind offers, and outstanding creativity to ensure the safety and well being of the many women and children who access our services and support.
Our emergency and second stage residential services, including our crisis line, have never stopped working in and across our community. Our community based support teams have set up and accessed many different platforms to reach out and support clients.
As of June 1, 2020, we started to reinstate, with balance and priority to safety precautions, our direct service supports.
AS we all know, violence has increased across the community, the county and the globe. We have worked with so many community partners to explore food options, space options and immediate action to support those enduring and working through issues of violence in our community.
We are proud of our store team as AGAN is back in business. We are thrilled with the sidewalk art project in front of our store as we wanted a way to lift the spirits and to honour the tenacity of Lanark County.
We recognize the struggles for folks related to wearing masks and we understand how trauma and violence impact our capacity to cope. WE validate, plan and educate as we all work together to respect each other while keeping safe distance and fending off the virus.
We are grateful for the opportunities, the courage, and the strength of this community.
In Solidarity,
Erin
