“There will be so many fantastic donations from our big supporters at OutGROW OutPLAY and Carleton Place Mom 2 Mom Sale!” states Robin Heald from Big Brothers Big Sisters. “We have great quality brand name clothing from birth to size 8 as well as toys and supplies.”
OutGROW OutPLAY has been a supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters and Interval House for a number of years. Consignors often choose to donate the items that do not sell at their event to charity. With this year’s Carleton Place Mom 2 Mom Sale, some vendors donated items to Interval House and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Both Lanark County Interval House and Big Brothers Big Sisters have volunteer driven social enterprise stores where every dollar goes to their non-profit. The As Good As New Store in Carleton Place sells clothing and household goods to fund programs from Interval House. Big Brothers Big Sisters has Jewel’s Gently Used Clothing Stores in both Smiths Falls and Perth. Each of these three stores provides funding exclusively for programs in Lanark County for our at-risk families.
“A big thank you goes to Modern Thymes for housing our event and all of the wonderful volunteers that make an event like this a great success,” explains Alyssa Burns, marketing coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Proceeds from the sale will go to support the valuable programs that Lanark County Interval House and Big Brothers Big Sisters provide in our community. These two organizations support local at-risk families who need support and mentorship at their most critical times.
