Mosaics for Change: Virtual Workshop

As part of our 16 Days of Activism campaign, join us for a virtual mosaic workshop with Anna Camilleri of ReDefine Arts! LCIHCS has partnered with ReDefine Arts three times to bring mosaics honouring victims and survivors of gender-based violence to Carleton Place, Almonte and Smiths Falls!
In this workshop, Anna will share reflections on the Countdown Public Art Project and community arts as a practice for community building and advocacy, screen one of two short videos from the Countdown Digital Story, and facilitate an art activity.
Anna Camilleri (b.1970) works across diverse media, including sculpture, installation, literature and performance. A producer and public artist, her practice is activated through collaboration and mentorship. Camilleri has presented and exhibited at galleries and festivals such as Festival of Live Digital Art, Liminal: The Interdisciplinary Critical Femininities Conference, STEPS Public Art, National Queer Arts Festival, White Water Gallery, LIVE: Biennial of Performance Art (Grunt Gallery), National Library Archives, to name a few. Her bookworks have been recognized with distinctions from the LAMBDA Literary Foundation, the Association of Independent Publishers, and the American Library of Congress. Anna is an Intergenerational LGBT Artist Residency alum, and Lead Artist of the Countdown Public Art Project, an aesthetic and discursive public art intervention into gender-based violence (2016 to present). She is founding Artistic Co-Director of ReDefine Arts and a 2023 TAC/TMU Leaders Lab fellow.
