Each school year, there are a couple of times when we step back and acknowledge the hard work of our teachers and educational assistants – during the holiday season and at the end of June. We all know how much work these amazing people do and the multitude of ways they enrich our children’s lives. Wouldn’t it be lovely to give them something that doesn’t just create more clutter or go unused and unappreciated? Definitely!! And wouldn’t it be even better if the gift made a positive impact in the lives of those less fortunate in our community? Absolutely!! Three HO HO HO’s to that!!
So this year we invite you to give a donation to Lanark County Interval House & Community Support in honour of your child’s teacher. This gift will go toward Youth Programming, allowing us to:
- Provide young residents in our shelter with necessary school supplies
- Provide young residents in our shelter with hygiene items and other health related needs
- Conduct art therapy workshops for youth who have experienced or witnessed violence
- Do more education and awareness workshops in local schools on the topics of consent, healthy relationships and family violence
Your donation will be a part of changing the experience of young people in our community, building a future generation that understands the cycle of abuse and puts an end to it!
You may complete the form below to make a donation in honour of your child’s teacher. All you need is the teacher’s name and email address, and a message will be sent to them as soon as the donation is made.
Thank you for supporting the needs of young people experiencing violence in our community!
