24 HOUR CRISIS LINE: 1-800-267-7946

Maya Angelou, a modern Renaissance woman who survived the harshest of childhoods to become a force on stage, screen, the printed page and the inaugural dais, has died. She was 86.
Maya was a leader who inspired change, strength and courage to women everywhere. She spoke of things when many could not. This loss is huge for many communities but her words, legacy and leadership will long remain. We thank her for her wisdom and courage.

We may encounter many defeats
But we must not be defeated
