The Shelter Wish List
There’s always a long list of needs at the shelter. Some women and children arrive at a moment’s notice, many others with very little. If you would like to provide direct help through donations, please reference the list below.
Some Important Notes:
For health and safety reasons, as outlined by Health Canada, we can only accept new, unopened item donations at the shelter. We are also unable to accept baby and children’s items such as cribs, strollers, bassinets and other related items.
We appreciate gently-used donations just as much at our thrift store, As Good As New – located at 33 Bridge Street in Carleton Place. Our store is 100% volunteer run and all proceeds come back to LCIHCS to support our operating costs. Our women and children are able to “shop” free of charge at our store as their needs arise; it is often their first stop after arriving at our shelter!
We do not have the space to accept larger items. All larger items, such as counter top appliances (microwave, toaster etc.), furniture (beds, tables, couches etc.), or electronics (television, stereos etc.) can be taken Rebound Re-use It Centre at 79 Bridge St, Almonte; 613-256-1700 or The Cheerful Giver at 2 Landsdowne Ave., Carleton Place; (613) 519-2517.
