Women’s Program Counsellor - Part Time Permanent Position

We are currently looking for a Women’s Program Counsellor to join our Community Support team. This position
will work from our Perth and Carleton Place locations.

POSITION RELATED QUALIFICATIONS (TECHNICAL, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE)
• Previous experience working with women, and children impacted by abuse, domestic violence,
and sexual violence.
• Knowledge of Sexual assault and domestic violence related impacts, interventions, and issues.
• Demonstrated counselling and crisis intervention skills from a strength-based approach.
• Group facilitation experience and engagement.
• Capacity to work from a harm reduction, trauma informed, feminist framework.
• Commitment to working from an anti-racist anti-oppression perspective.
• Knowledge of local and area community resources.
• Experience with family court and the justice system in relation to both domestic violence and sexual
assault.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• CPR/ First Aid training required.
• A valid criminal record check.
• A valid driver’s license and clean driver abstract with access to a vehicle.
• Experience working in a rural community would be an asset.

Hours: 17.5 hours per week. Weekend and/or evening work may be required.
Rate: $30.18 per hour
Probationary period of 3 months.
