Where is the Love? is a three-year project led by Lanark County Interval House designed to inspire youth to raise awareness and education about dating violence and sexual assault. With the support of an organizing committee, the Where is the Love? project team will coordinate twice-annual youth summits where youth will lead and participate in interactive workshops and learning about healthy and unhealthy dating relationships. |

Each fall, a youth summit will be held where high school students from across the county will gather to learn more about dating violence and sexual assault and, together, learn about the many ways that they can raise awareness in their own schools and communities about these serious issues. Then, in the spring, a summit will be held to showcase their many exciting anti-violence initiatives. What are the goals of this project? * To inspire youth to raise awareness about dating violence and sexual assault in their own schools and communities * To promote education about healthy and unhealthy relationships; to support youth in initiating their own anti-violence projects * To help break the cycle of violence that threatens, for the most part, so many young women and girls. How can I be involved?! Currently we are encouraging enthusiastic school staff, community members, and youth who are interested in the “Where is the Love?” project to give us a shout—we need your support in shaping this project to meet the needs of Lanark County youth! Opportunities will exist to sit on our organizing committee, to lend a hand at our youth summits, or to just stay updated on the “Where is the Love?” news! We encourage any community member—but especially Lanark County youth—with a passion for anti-violence and a desire to make a difference to contact us. Want to jumpstart your own school initiative?
